Welcome to the blog, where resources are available to help you plan your best adventure yet!
For couples who love nature and gorgeous scenery, a Zion National Park proposal is the perfect place to make unforgettable memories. Located in Southwest Utah, the park is known for its huge sandstone cliffs, rivers, and waterfalls that take your breath away.
Recently, I had the honor of capturing Mitch and Riley’s proposal and engagement photos at the national park, and the moments we captured reflect the couple’s fun, loving, and dedicated relationship.
As an experienced elopement photographer, I love capturing the most intimate, milestone moments for couples. Since I’m based out of my campervan, I have the luxury of traveling the U.S. and beyond to photograph couples in the most beautiful and adventurous locations.
If you’re looking to book an elopement or proposal photographer at Zion National Park or beyond, contact me to make sure you can enjoy your beautiful memories for years to come!
Now, can I share this real-life Zion National Park Proposal?? Mitch and Riley are West Coasters who recently moved to Austin, Texas and missed exploring the outdoors. To reconnect with nature, the couple planned a weekend getaway in Zion National Park where they could explore and experience a fun adventure together.
Mitch contacted me a few weeks before their trip to document their unforgettable proposal. They were staying at Under Canvas Zion, a glamping resort with private tents and luxury accommodations. Mitch knew he wanted a scenic, sunset proposal, so he planned out all the details to propose with a full setup at the campgrounds, under the cliffs of Zion.
The amazing crew at Under Canvas Zion set up a cozy space on a secluded area of their grounds, including a sofa, cake, champagne, and a charcuterie board that the couple could enjoy. When it was time for the big moment, Riley was so surprised and excited!
It was so easy for me to capture the couple’s excitement, and the Zion cliffs were the perfect backdrop.
As you can see: with a destination proposal, documenting the weekend means that you can have gorgeous photos to look back on in years to come!
For Riley and Mitch, I spent about 30 minutes photographing their proposal before giving them some space to celebrate in privacy. The next day, the two rented ATVs to explore more of the area around the park, so it was the perfect opportunity to capture engagement photos. Plus, it was SO MUCH FUN!
The couple chose the Sand Mountain Recreation Area to rent ATVs and explore that morning, and I got some great shots of them driving through the cliffs, posing on the ATV, walking through the dunes, and having fun with some sandboards.
The mix of posed and candid photos was perfect for the fun-loving couple! If you and your partner are also adventurous nature lovers, I definitely recommend a proposal location where you can take engagement photos in action. Like Mitch and Riley, the photos will capture you having the best time and letting your true selves shine.
After being a part of Mitch and Riley’s Zion National Park proposal, I really can’t recommend it enough! The national park is the perfect spot if you’re looking for any of the following:
Ready to plan your own Zion National Park proposal? I guarantee you’ll be just as happy as Mitch and Riley! Here are some tips to make it as magical as possible.
Zion is a huge park, so spend some time researching the different areas (or reach out and ask me!). Keep in mind that some might be more busy (like areas on the public hiking trails), while there might be more secluded locations just outside of the park.
You don’t want to be sweltering under an afternoon desert sun while you’re proposing, so plan accordingly! Sunrise and sunset are both great options, but keep an eye on the time since it’s different throughout the year.
To make the day as seamless as possible, plan out how you’ll get to your location, what you need to bring (or who can help you set up), and what you need to do to prepare your loved one–without giving too much away! Don’t forget to plan what you’ll say to pop up the big question.
Last but not least, don’t forget to hire a proposal photographer like me to capture it all! If you’re ready to work with me, I offer services for any of your needs, from single-day, two-day, mini sessions, and photo and video packages. Together, we’ll make sure your proposal is exactly what you’re envisioning.
Lastly, don’t forget to celebrate! Your proposal is one of the happiest, most exciting moments in your life, and I’d be honored to be there to capture it. Congratulations!
