Izzy and Britton started their elopement weekend at Panorama Glass Lodge—truly one of the dreamiest spots, with floor-to-ceiling views of the Northern Lights all week. The night before their ceremony, the sky lit up. Unreal.
They got ready separately and shared a quiet first look just outside the lodge before hopping in their Land Rover to head into the highlands. We stopped at a massive volcanic crater, and later hit a river crossing that had everyone laughing—those unexpected moments are what make elopements so special.
Izzy and Britton exchanged vows in front of Iceland’s colorful rhyolite mountains—quiet, intimate, and completely theirs.
Afterward, we grabbed hot chocolate from a retro school bus snack stop. Honestly, it might’ve been the best I’ve ever had—especially after such an emotional ceremony.
The next day started off slow and sweet. Izzy and Britton had a casual photo session around Panorama Glass Lodge, soaking in their first full morning as newlyweds. The soft light, relaxed mood, and stunning views made it the perfect start to day two.

If this is the kind of adventure you’re dreaming about, here are a few quick tips to help you plan your own unforgettable hot springs elopement in Iceland:
Spring and fall are great for avoiding peak crowds while still having good weather. Winter offers Northern Lights and snowy landscapes, but some roads (especially to remote hot springs) will be closed.
A 4×4 is non-negotiable for many of the F-roads leading to places like Landmannalaugar. Consider campervanning for extra flexibility!
Swimsuits, quick-dry towels, and layers are essential. Don’t forget water shoes if you’re visiting rocky or slippery hot springs.
